Clarion-UniClarion University of Pennsylvania, located in Clarion in the picturesque Appalachian Mountain region of northwestern Pennsylvania.  Clarion County has six exits off Interstate 80, making it within short traveling distances from the cities of Erie, Pittsburgh and Youngstown Pennsylvania, is one of fourteen universities of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). It was founded in 1867 and offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees and post master’s certificates.
With more than 6,500 students living in a community that includes a historic main street, specialty shops, restaurants, a mall with a state-of-the-art movie theatre, and a hospital. There are more than 145 student organizations including academic, athletic, intramural, Greek, political, multicultural, service, and special interest groups from which you can to choose. It has an NCAA Division II school for men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports. Men’s sports are baseball, basketball, football, golf, swimming and diving, and wrestling. For Division I school in wrestling. Women’s sports are basketball, golf, cross country, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
In the classroom, including 28 nationally accredited programs, where professors can zero in on the talents that make you unique. in the community, where students are recognized by merchants on Main Street and throughout the campus, where you can become involved in projects and student organizations that will challenge and inspire you from your first semester to graduation day. In class, students are challenged by extraordinary faculty members to go further.  These students go on to find employment with top companies, school districts, organizations, and non-profit agencies.
With 90 degree programs, you’ll know you’re getting everything you need for success in life.  In addition, its Venango College offers associate degrees, plus bachelor’s and master’s degrees at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh and through its Virtual Campus in the select areas.
During their collegiate experience at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, students may experience some form of academic difficulty with specific academic subjects and/or their basic learning skills. Recognizing this fact, the administration at Clarion has committed institutional resources to the development of the Center for Academic Enrichment.
The University center provides comprehensive assistance in reading and study skills as well as in the content areas of specific subjects. It has two components, the Learning Skills Lab and the Tutorial Center. The prime objective of the Learning Skills Lab is to provide students with instruction in basic learning skills to become independent learners. The Tutorial Center provides supplemental aid to classroom instruction in the content areas. Content tutoring is for students who are having trouble understanding basic concepts, ideas, or mechanical processes. Assistance is offered in most lower division subjects and in selected upper division subjects.
Most sessions consist of one-to-one instruction or small group instruction. Tutors are undergraduates who have been referred by their respective departments. These tutors participate in extensive training sessions to develop their tutoring skills. As a result of the staff changing from one semester to the next, the courses that are offered will vary from semester to semester.
Since 1867, this University has developed connections in the community and throughout the region, and it make sure those connections benefit for students.  It means that this university, and every experience you have in it, will be true to you and to what you want in an education. Students live on campus or in nearby college-owned or affiliated housing. New students can choose to live in suite-style residences, apartment housing or traditional residence halls.  There’s also a wide assortment of dining options, including the campus dining hall, food court, cafes, and a bakery.
