PERISCOPE

Most of the world’s current conflicts occur in the Middle East. For years, Western nations have continued their efforts to keep the Middle East in check. The Palestinian crisis is one of the most pressing crises in the Middle East. The Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Palestine, which is a very important place for Muslims because it was the first Muslim mosque. The birth of Jesus Christ took place in Bethlehem, Palestine, so the region is important to Christians as well. And the last Jews claim that this region is their original home, that is, in ancient times the Jews lived in the region, so they are the main claimants of this region. As a result of this demand of the Jews, they started the environment in Palestine from 180 AD. However, the Jewish settlement in Palestine began after World War I. In 1918, British Foreign Secretary Lord Belfort announced the establishment of the Jewish state of Israel in Palestine. Belfort’s announcement is thought to have triggered a Palestinian crisis. In fact, the Palestinian crisis began as a result of the First World War. Because at this time this Palestinian state belonged to the Turkish Empire, but the defeat in the war led to the British taking over Palestine which led to the beginning of the crisis. Hitler also began to persecute the Jews as a result of Hitler’s takeover of power in Germany in 1933. The Jews moved to Palestine in droves and began to settle. Bloody conflicts erupted between Arab Israel in 1948, 1958, 1967, and 1963 over Jewish settlements. In every war the Arabs are defeated, Israel is victorious, and they are able to occupy 64% of Palestine. The PL was formed in 1964 to establish the rights of the Palestinian people. Yasser Arafat took over the PLO in 1979, and the PLO signed a peace treaty in Washington on September 13, 1993, but no progress was made The roadmap was later announced in 2003 with the support of the United Nations, the European Union, the United States, and Russia, and by 2005 the independence of Palestine had been declared. But by declaring Jerusalem the capital by Trump in 2016, has destroyed all possible ways of settling the problems. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, which was at war with the Jews, is now slowly becoming a supporter of Israel through the United States. The reason for Saudi Arabia’s position is that it has taken over the sole power in the Middle East. We know that Iran is now establishing itself as an emerging power in the Middle East, which is not to the liking of Saudi Arabia. And Israel, Saudi Arabia and Iran are taking advantage of the conflict to advance relations with Muslim countries. As you can see, Israel’s main goal now is to gain recognition from Saudi Arabia. And now the development of US-Israeli relations has the potential to have an impact on Iran, which the US will never let go. It is not possible to resolve the Palestinian crisis today because of the context in which thousands of Palestinians are being killed by the illegitimate state. Therefore, the major Muslim states of the world should play a leading role in resolving the Palestinian crisis, even though Hamas is a pro-independence group that is constantly fighting to protect the rights of the Palestinians. It remains to be seen to what extent their struggle will be implemented. Because the question remains whether there will be a non-aligned relationship between Muslim countries and whether the future stability of the Middle East will return.
