How can we deny the existence of torture cells in our universities? Please do the proper non-partisan investigation. Torture cells dominate the partisan politics in all campuses. Even some of the so called powerful teachers act like mafia bosses. They shout at other teachers and they threat others in all formal meetings as well. To them General teachers are dead animals.
Why can’t our judicial system bring BUET VC and provost to the accountability in Abrar case? During the time of his torture and death they were awake and walking around in and around their residence.
Now the master mind accused said that his gang used to do that kind of torture every now and then and they were rewarded for those ragging from high ups. Who are those high ups?
We have very reason to believe that some of them are politician-teachers, who do the ragging directly or indirectly upon fellow teachers as well.
In fact bengalis are bengalis. We share many good and bad things together. But the leadership gap is creating a huge problem, in fact making us crazy in both sides. Otherwise we should be evolving like a mini EU system in the

Enough on the Abrar killing and only blaming Student League for it. Don’t the ex-students and elite alumni of BUET and it’s useless professors also somewhat responsible for the overall lawlessness in BUET, which ultimately resulted in the death of Abrar? There are 8 torture cells in 7 BUET halls. It is impossible to believe that the smart BUET alumni and its current students did not know about it ahead of time. Many of them knew about it. But as long as the tortures were not resulting in death, or as long as the victims were genuinely or allegedly Shibir activists or BNP activists, these folks stayed quiet. Didn’t many of these folks somehow accepted as normal that a genuine opposition student can be tortured or thrown out of the hostels of BUET? How many protested those violent acts when one after another opposition leaning students were tortured or kicked out? BUET has turned into a fascist paradise around 2012-2014. This was the time when the Shahabaghi movement spread the cancer of intolerance, and BUET started horrendous abuses in the name of “Jamat Shibir Mukto BUET”. There is a BUET students’ Facebook page, which has thousands of users. The page is moderated by a group of politically ignorant and intolerant moderators. They kick out any user from their alumni Facebook page even if that user likes and shares contents on his or her own Facebook wall that the BUET moderators do not like. Such intolerance of BUET’s Facebook moderators ultimately transferred into a murderous act when the same tactic was used by Chatro League terrorists to check Abrar’s Facebook profile, his like and shares, and decided to force him out of the hostels after beating him. BUET’s name will be all over in the global media soon as a University where students are killed for posting on Facebook. This may cause damage to future BUET students who may apply for admissions abroad. I for one can guarantee , I will never entertain any BUET student’s resume for any reference or job, unless I am absolutely sure the boy or girl is not a fascist or fascist sympathizer with a technical degree.
